Recognize Early Signs Prostate Cancer Avoid Dangerous Surprises
Screening and Diagnosis
Prostate cancer screening typically involves a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and a digital rectal exam (DRE). Elevated PSA levels can indicate the presence of prostate cancer, although other factors can also cause high PSA levels. If screening results suggest the possibility of cancer, a biopsy may be performed to confirm the diagnosis. Regular screening is recommended for men over 50, or earlier for those with a family history of prostate cancer.
